The myControl App from Signia puts complete control of your new Signia hearing aids at your fingertips. Available for iOS and Android phones, the app offers not only advanced remote control options. It also provides state-of-the-art features to document your acoustic environment and communication activity.
Similiar to a fitness tracker, the myControl App helps wearers to look after their hearing health by displaying noise exposure and voice activity, which are important health indicators. The app’s Sound Exposure page displays the sound level around you throughout the day. This helps you to understand why some days can feel more tiring than others due to different acoustic environments.
Conversations help you prevent cognitive decline
The myControl App’s new Voice Activity tracking visualizes how much you have been participating in conversations. One of the main reasons to wear hearing aids is to be able to continue to socialize and take part in conversations.
Conversation plays an important part in helping to prevent cognitive decline. When your own voice sounds more natural through features like Signia’s patented Own Voice Processing (OVP), you feel more at ease and less distracted while holding a conversation. This new feature allows you and your hearing care professional to monitor your voice activity and how much you are engaging socially while wearing Signia hearing aids.
How to activate fitness tracking for your ears
You can activate this feature in just a few easy steps. After you have paired your hearing aids with your smartphone via Bluetooth and started the myControl App, you need to grant the app access to your phone’s motion & activity information. In order to get this permission request, the fitness tracking (Settings>>Privacy>>Motion&Fitness>>Fitness Tracking) must be activated on your smartphone.
